Wegovy
semaglutide
FDA-approved for chronic weight management. Once-weekly subcutaneous injection.
How it works
Semaglutide mimics a naturally occurring gut hormone (GLP-1) that the body releases after meals. It slows gastric emptying, reduces appetite-driven food cues, and supports the body's own satiety signaling.
How we use it
Wegovy is part of our GLP-1 Weight Optimization program for patients meeting FDA on-label criteria — BMI ≥ 30, or BMI ≥ 27 with at least one weight-related comorbidity. Continuity is a priority — you will see the same physician whenever clinically possible; 45-min initial visit, 30-min monthly check-ins, unlimited secure messaging in between.
What to expect
Once-weekly subcutaneous self-administered injection. Dose escalation follows the FDA-approved schedule: 0.25 mg → 0.5 mg → 1.0 mg → 1.7 mg → 2.4 mg, advancing approximately monthly per tolerance. Maintenance dose is 2.4 mg weekly.

What the literature says
Published trials of semaglutide for chronic weight management (the STEP program) report substantial mean weight reduction at one year. Effects depend on continued use; published data indicate partial weight regain after discontinuation. Mon Élan does not claim specific outcomes for any patient.
How it reaches you
Branded Wegovy is prescribed and dispensed via a separately licensed retail/specialty pharmacy partner at the dispensing pharmacy's published cash price; the exact figure is pulled at each visit and surfaced in your portal before you authorize routing. Mon Élan does not add a markup to medication. Your Mon Élan membership covers your physician relationship, lab review, and the entire clinical practice; medication is billed separately by the dispensing pharmacy.
